Swiss Monopoly Tour

After playing Monopoly with my kids (5, 7, 9) for years, we decided to visit these places once in reality. The challenge was to travel to all places by public transport within two days.

Unlike the original and most other editions, the Swiss Monopoly edition has existing streets and places in Swiss cities. The following map shows our route from January 3rd and 4th 2018.

Start at 6:27 in Stargans

Chur, Kornplatz

We started with the first field in the game.

St. Gallen, Marktplatz

Winterthur, Bahnhofplatz

Schaffhausen, Vordergasse

In Schaffhausen, we switched from SBB to the Deutsche Bahn.

At Basel Badischer Bahnhof, we saw the first damages of the storm "Burglind", which crossed Europe this day.

Basel, Freie Strasse

Basel, Steinenvorstadt

Lunchtime in ICE.

Due to "Burglind", our direct train from Basel to Lugano was canceled and we had to travel via Zurich, where the departure table looked a little bit scary.

Lugano, Via Nassa

We were lucky to cross the alps through the new Gotthard base tunnel only one hour behind our schedule.

Luzern, Weggisgasse

A little bit later than planned, we reached our night's lodging near Zofingen.

Bern, Bundesplatz

Day 2 started with the National parliament in Bern.

Bern, Spitalgasse

Thun, Hauptgasse

Freiburg, Bahnhofstrasse

Genf, Rue de la Croix-d'Or

Lausanne, Place St. Francois

Lausanne, Rue de Bourg

Neuenburg, Place Purry

La Chaux-de-Fonds, Rue Léopold Robert

Biel, Nidaugasse

Solothurn, Hauptgasse

Aarau, Rathaus

Zürich, Rennweg

Zürich, Paradeplatz

We made it! Last field in the game and final station on our tour.
